Why I Support Chick-Fil-A..

2 Aug

As, known, the restaurant known for amazing chicken and delectable waffle fries, Chick-Fil-A, is catching major slack for their stance on gay marriage.

The controversy came to a boil after an interview with the fast food restaurant chain’s president and COO Dan Cathy appeared in The Baptist Press on July 16 and he weighed in with his views on family.

“We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit,” Cathy said. “We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”

Gay rights activist have since called for the boycott of Chick-Fil-A, and said they would protest in front of stores.

The restaurant has since received support from millions of people. From politicians, to other restaurants, such as Wendy’s.

I support their stance.

You can NOT expect every single person to think the same way you do. Because Chick-Fil-A, does not support gays does not mean that they are bad people. They feel the way they feel. It’s called free speech. It was a right given to us at birth.

It seems that some gay people tend to think like everyone should like they do. False. Everyone is entailed to their own feelings, own morals, and own personal stance on life issues. It does not mean they hate gays, it simply means they believe that the definition of marriage is between a man and a woman. Being gay is a personal choice, key word, personal, I think that it’s way too much being read into it. A personal matter, getting public attention. If you are gay, be happy in your own skin, and the person god made you, every single human being does not have to agree.

I read where a gay activist related this issue to the civil rights era when blacks were discriminated against. STOP. African Americans were not discriminated against because of who they chose to lay down with. They were captured, enslaved for many years, raped, beaten, killed, and still face humility because of the color of their skin. It is completely different and I was so disgusted that someone could relate such.

Since the controversy, Chick-Fil-A, has reported to have record setting sales. So, the boycott seems to be doing the exact opposite. So while all these activists are standing in 90+ degree weather, with the picket signs, and losing their voice, Chick-Fil-A is winning, and still has AMAZING FOOD. Point blank.

Keep the peace, and good waffle fries. 🙂 ♥

No, African Americans didn’t ask for that. It was their wealthy white land owners who did. And now (the decedents of) those wealthy white men have turned their human-rights abuse on a different group! Gays didn’t ask to love the way they do, it’s the way God made them. Look around in nature, homosexuality is NATURAL. Pro-Gay activists wanted to boycott this restaurant because it uses its profits to push for anti-gay legislation and support anti-gay groups. To relate this to the example you said had no relation to this case, it would be like KFC offering money and support toward the reinstatement of slavery. Do gays have to go thru the same torment your ancestors did just because they lead a different life? To use a snippit of your post, are you saying that gays aren’t “raped, beaten, killed, and still face humility?” And this isn’t bc of the color of their skin….this is bc of WHO THEY CHOOSE TO LOVE!!! You can’t help how you feel for someone almost as much as you can’t help how dark your skin may be. In this day and age, THIS IS WRONG! I find your over-generalizations of how gay people supposedly feel to be grossly misinformed. You should know better, I’m not speaking for the gay community, I just know hate mongering when I see it. This happens to every group in America, what happened to all of my Native American ancestors? Did they get a choice to not be lied to and massacred so that this generation can ho hum over if someone is allowed to have their rights? THIS IS OUR CHOICE NOW!!! In the time that we live in, THIS CANNOT STAND! What are we supposed to teach our children, that hating people that you don’t understand is better than loving and caring for your fellow man. You should be ashamed for sticking up for a corporation that uses its money to help further the denying of peoples’ rights. They have enough power to influence their agenda, they don’t need your help.

    Please get a clue,

ooooh.. apparently i hit a nerve, welp, thanks for the time you took to write this, but, sadly, I can’t read it right now, it’s too much fluff, and I have some studying to do, but! if your gay, be happy within you…

You answered your own question and proved your own point… Some gays have been beaten and raped, etc for their choice. Key word: choice. Blacks were not given a choice as to the color of their skin. The argument is very relevant in the sense of you cannot compare the two because one side is fighting for a CHOICE they DECIDED to make and the other side was fighting for their human rights and were accosted because of their skin color… not a CHOICE at all.

We all like chicken. Race or personal choice of who you want to marry or have a relationship is your business. Because a business uses there right to free speech you have a choice to eat there or not. Did you every here from anyone that was turned away from Chick-Fil-A for being Gay? I would think everyone is welcome to eat there no matter who you are or what life choices you make. Can’t compare that to the history of Black Americans. There are Haters in every race. But I think they are a dying breed. Look at the you people Dee like yourself. I bet you give everyone a chance before you judge. That is what we need in this country! I think we will see a women president next. Perhaps you Dee! Lets all eat chicken and just enjoy it. I am sure Jake is welcome too.
